Motivational Music

I collect motivational music. For use in presentations, kick-offs, or any other events where you would like to boost the audience, push their confidence or just get them going! You can subscribe to my Spotify Playlist – Get Motivated – a playlist of motivational songs to get access to all of them!

Updated 20th May 2014 – Elton John, The Go! Team and Queens of The Stone Age!

Elton John – I’m Still Standing
I’m Still Standing is the second song of side one (for those who knows what vinyl is) from the 1983 album, Too Low for Zero by our hero musician Elton John. Wikipedia can tell us that John uses the song as an anthem at his live performances. And it is. It is a perfect song for boosting energy and life to an audience.

The Go! Team – Bust-Out Brigade
One of my favourite bands, The Go! Team blends a perfect mix of indie rock and garage rock with a tad blaxploitation and Bollywood soundtracks, double Dutch chants whilst tying in old school hip hop and distorted guitars. How about that for awesome! If you do not want to raise your hands, jump and wobble to this – you’re completely deaf.

Queens of the Stone Age – Go With the Flow
Stoner rock for the masses! QOTSA has never compromised on anything. And neither should you if you need an anthem to make people exaggerated and willing to go the extra mile! Songs for the Deaf (their third album) was a critical and commercial success – fully understandable.

DJ Khaled – All I Do Is Win – Feat. T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg & Rick Ross
I like this song, because it’s all about winning and money. This works for sales people and it also adds a certain boost where you can get people to wave their hands in the air! It’s an energetic boost!

Queen – We Are The Champions
Queen – We Will Rock You
The two above mentioned Queen songs does not really need introductions. They are the classics of motivational music – albeit a “tad” overused…

Tina Turner – The Best
This is also one of the classics. Personally I find it somewhat dull and boring, but I know a lot of people who like it – and it deserves a place on a list of motivational music.

Bill Conti – Gonna Fly Now (Theme From “Rocky”)
The theme song of the 1977 movie Rocky and a song that made it immediately into the movie audiences minds – this is the piece of music Rocky Balboa completed his daily training with!

Survivor – Eye Of The Tiger
Another one from the Rocky movie series! When Sylvester Stallone opted for Queens “Anotherone bites the dust” and was turned down this was written upon request and made it to the top of world wide charts in 1982! Overused indeed, but…

The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army
Whoa! Stop your feet from moving! If you can…? This song has reached immense popularity within sporting events, but it also well suited for motivational use outside the sports arena! “I’m going to fight them off. A seven-nation army couldn’t hold me back”

MGMT – Time To Pretend
MGMT has made a few songs that fits well into the motivational category! First out is “Time to Pretend” and it is first and foremost the beat I really like about this – the drive! “I’m feeling rough, I’m feeling raw, I’m in the prime of my life.”

Muse – Uprising
“They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious (So come on)”

Eminem – Lose Yourself
First single off the soundtrack to Eminem’s move “8 Mile” released 2002. Won Academy Award for best song (first time ever a rap song has won) and later made it onto the Rolling Stone Magazines top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. A catchy thing and a song that can be used well with the right audience! It is about overcoming problems and facing your fears!
